We had a great first day of great Montessori in Steubenville here at Hilltop Children’s House. Our first day of classes saw the resumption of our Primary Montessori, with our biggest class ever, as well as the inaugural meeting of our Elementary Montessori.
Primary Resumes
Miss Noelle began her fifth year as the lead guide in our Primary Elementary. She has ten learners in these first few days, as she starts with returning learners, getting them re-acclimated to the classroom and the work cycle. This makes it easier for new learners to normalize, because they have the example of the other learners.
Soon, eight more learners will join, bringing the Primary to an all-time high of 18!
Our new assistant, Miss Lucy, who is also fully AMI-trained as a Primary guide, ably stepped into the role.
Elementary Begins
The Elementary began well, with eight learners. All of them have previous Montessori experience. Mr. Tom and his assistant, Miss Rebekah, worked with this all-new classroom of learners. These first few days will be filled with settling in, setting up, establishing routines and norms, and learning from one another how the year will go.
