What a night!
The Mardi Gras Gala presented by Trinity Health System
We have so many people to thank for helping it to be such a great night!
Sponsors
First we want to thank our title sponsor, Trinity Health System. Their support and encouragement was vital to pulling off such an event.
The same goes for the rest of our sponsors: Gold Sponsors included Crowe’s Cabinets, Franciscan University of Steubenville, and the St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology. Purple Sponsors included Roberta and Paul Crowe, and Shannon Price Irvin with Cedar One Realty. And our Green Sponsors were Jennifer and John Dubé and Molly and Jan Yabs. We are so grateful to you all.
Volunteers
Our indispensable volunteers included parents of some of our students — Helen and Joe Coyle (who also won our competition and wee crowned King and Queen of Mardi Gras!), Sara and Dave Mathews, Holly and Matt Coakley, Emily and Eric Allen; also Christine and Brady Webb who were happy to help wherever help was needed; Katie Takats, who made our signage; Raquel Lopez, who our first Hilltop Children’s Champion; Annie Delfiandra who let everyone in; some friends from the Harmonium Project, Sarita Asawa, Samantha McCoy, and Theresa Baker; Liz Schriber, who was with us all the way from Rochester, New York; plus Cindy Welker, who, with her son LIam, got the chuck-a-luck wheel going for us; the crafting sisters Anne Borsick Sweeney and Jacqueline Borsick Welling; Matthew Schaefer, with additional help from Kevin Lee, Tommy Gies, Robert Corzine and Christina Pankus, Rocco Palumbo, Jerry Crowe, Brian Antal, and, last but not least, Roberta and Paul Crowe.
The Ballroom is a wonderful space, but that’s all it is: a space. All tables, chairs, decorations, and all prizes, and business elements have to be brought in and put up in the 24 hours before the event begins, and then has to be completely taken down and packed out within 2 hours after the event if over. A massive undertaking of that nature doesn’t happen without a LOT of help.
Toast the Host Catering, with Jesse and Heidi Stetson
Toast the Host Catering, featuring the culinary stylings of Jesse Stetson, did a remarkable job with the food once again. Last year and this year we were eager to give Jesse a blank canvas to create amazing foods in the New Orleans cuisine family, and both years he has really shown off his skill and flair. We’re still working to figure out the best way to accomplish food stations in that tight space, but the food itself is incredible, we hope you all agree.
Photography by John Novotny
John Novotny was the roving photographer. He has been sharing his photos bit by bit through Facebook, and once he has them all prepared we will post a gallery here on our website. We’ll share it soon!
ALL OF OUR GUESTS!
None of this matters if our guests don’t come and have a good time and buy tickets and bid on auction items. Thank you to all of you who came out and made the Gala such a success. We netted nearly $5,000 on Saturday, between sponsorship and money raised that night, after expenses.
SAVE THE DATE for MARDI GRAS 2021!
The Mardi Gras Gala 2021 will take place on Saturday, February 13, 2021! Put it on you calendar now, and we’ll see you there!
