We’ve got some nice items coming in for the silent and Chinese auctions at the Mardi Gras Gala 2019!
Hand-made, one-of-a-kind items, weekends away, tickets to sports and arts, a day of baking and stimulating conversation with the chaplain of Christendom College (yes, I’m serious), wine, coffee, and so much more, will be up for bidding.
A few examples
Berliners and Conversation with Father Pollard
Father Marcus Pollard, priest of the Diocese of Arlington, is the chaplain of Christendom College. He’s also a long-time friend of Noëlle Crowe, and married Noëlle and Tom in 2017. He has his German grandmother’s recipe for Berliners, and loves spending a day making these German delights with people who love to have good conversation. He’ll bring the materials and some conversation ideas (he’s never lacking), you supply the kitchen!
Crowe-Pikler Triangle
A Pikler’s Triangle is a thing found in many Montessori classrooms. Kids absolutely love to play on and around one of these basic, beginner jungle gyms. Noëlle told Tom that she needed one for the Hilltop Children’s House, but they can be expensive. So Tom decided to make one. Problem was, every design he saw had problems. So he devised his own design—one with very few points sticking out and almost no exposed metal, thus reducing the risk of injury to the kids. Thus, “Crowe-Pikler Triangle.”
Hand Crocheted Ohio Home Blanket
One of Noëlle’s sisters has designed a custom blanket which she is crocheting with “HOME” in a block and the “O” replaced by the state of Ohio. We’ll share a picture once it’s ready.
Photography Sessions
Laura Schaeffer of Fire and Gold Photography has offered three different photography packages: a senior photo shoot, a family photo shoot, and a 20-minute mini session
Hand Knit and Crocheted Baby Blankets
Another of Noëlle’s sisters is completing multiple beautiful baby blankets using by crochet and knit stitches. Pictures will be posted when they’re ready.
Mahoning Valley Scrappers Tickets
C.C. Sabathia, Victor Martinez, Josh Tomlin, Lonnie Chisenhall, and Jason Kipnis: what do they all have in common? They started their professional careers playing for the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, at Cafaro Field just northwest of Youngstown, Ohio. The Scrappers have donated a four-ticket package.
Mountaineer Race Track and Casino
The nearby destination for gaming, racing, and relaxing has donated a one-night stay and a gift card. Take a night off, on them!
St. Ambrose Coffee
Delicious coffee roasted by St. Ambrose Coffee right here in Steubenville, along with a gourmet coffee brewer with filters, and a burr grinder to ensure a good even grind, will help your mornings get off to a good start.
Viriditas Herbals Basket
If you’ve never treated yourself to some of Brittany’s herbal soap, lip balm, lotion, or body scrub you really owe it to yourself to get familiar. It’s soothing just to look at it! You won’t want to miss what’s in this basket.
